Peppermoon
Nos Ballades
RRR00007
Peppermoon’s debut album, eagerly awaited by more than 10,000 friends on Myspace, has that fresh, delicate, unique vibe, perfectly illustrated by the animation video to Apres l’orage, by Philadelphia’s young artist Carol Jakob.
Peppermoon sounds like a 60’s Parisian chanteuse (cf. Birkin, Hardy, La foret...), collaboration with a current indie-pop act (cf. Belle & Sebastian, Sam Phillips, Tori Amos, The Divine Comedy, The Bird and The Bee, The Postmarks...). And it’s full of catchy melodies. Some of them have been featured in short films around the world (Honk Kong, USA...), and Les petits miroirs made its way on to a much publicised Dutch compilation (Filles Fragiles), amongst songs by Holden, Gainsbourg, Keren Ann, Olicia Ruiz, etc. They even performed live on Amsterdam’s biggest talk-show De Wereld Draait Door.
Peppermoon’s name came from a Beatles’ song and a not less famous Henry Mancini song...(guess!). By chance, it happens that the french words “promene pop” (pop walk) are a perfect anagram of Peppermoon. Seems like these songs are definitely meant to go and travel around...
