What we are about: Every Indie label says the same thing, “...we’re about the music more than we are the money…” And while I would hope that’s the case with all of them, we understand that bands and artists that take the time and effort to make music, and even more so, make an album, that many, if not all, would like to see something done with their music, that it’s heard!! At least so they don’t come out in the negative, which normally, is sadly the case. Through our years of experiencing the indie music industry, from the inside and outside, we’ve learned from a lot of our mistakes as well as a lot of good decisions that we want to pass on to others. There are so many ways for good music to be heard, even for bad music to be heard. We are not a greedy bunch, but we know that the more we help, the more you get in return. Ring Road Records History Kyle Reidy, lead singer of Mar, originally started the Ring Road Records label in 2005 as an outlet for his music. Other bands such as Benjamin Del Shreve, Jonathan Taylor Rose, Pyramid, Gingerbread Patriots and the Doldrums were all part of the “informal” label. In 2007, Kyle teamed up with Fayetteville attorney Mark Velasquez, an avid music lover and Mar fan, to form Ring Road Records as a registered Limited Liability Company. While Mar is the only band signed with the reorganized Ring Road Records label, some from the original group, and many other talented artists, will hopefully be joining Mar on the label soon. |
