The Band “Mar” was founded by Kyle Reidy in early 2004. “Mar” was Kyle Reidy’s mother’s name. She passed away of cancer in 1999. The band went through several changes in line-up before settling with the final four who pulled through and actually recorded their debut album, ‘The Silence’ in 2005. Those four, Kyle Reidy (lead singer), Patrick Atkinson (electric guitar), Nate Reed (electric guitar), and Claire Long (keyboards), remained with Mar until after a tour with The Album Leaf which ended in April 2005. Kyle stayed with Mar while the other three members of the band went their own way. In July 2007, Mar, with new members, Adam Putman, Ty Denison, Danny Klein, Dylan Aycock, and Shawn Joy Boggus with guest artists, Zoe Keating (cello), and Anton Patzner (violin), recorded ‘The Sound’ In Eureka Springs, Arkansas. In the later part of 2007 Mar underwent another change in its lineup. The band now consists of Kyle Reidy (lead vocals, Rhodes piano & organ), Adam Putman (drums) and Ty Denison (bass). Mar is currently preparing for its upcoming mid-west tour with Audrey Sessions and for its Japan tour coming up in the spring of 2008. |
